Travis Engelhard of EF1 Cattle Company, located near Carpio, North Dakota is conducting an online sale that ends today!
"Both sides of our families, my wife Summer and I ancestors were homesteaders out here in North Dakota and basically we've had livestock and cattle around forever. Started out with this registered deal about five, six years ago. Been using the Horned Herford Bulls for many years on our Black Cows to produce F1s and decided to throw our hat in the ring and start raising some ourselves. We raise Horned Herefords. We have a smaller commercial herd of F1s like I said. But we're a true proponent of the Line 1 Horned Hereford cattle. They started out with several lines of these Herefords and ended up with one single line that made it through the line breeding. That's where the history of these Line 1 Horned Herefords comes from. We like them because you get a little more extra hybrid vigor than even a straight horned cattle do or the pulled. We like the Herefords for their thriftiness and ability to convert to forage. Also for their temperament is really good and when they're crossed on an Angus, it's there's nothing better than a true F1 Baldy for a range cow."
Now is this a live sale or online only?
"This is an online sale put on the platform of DV auction. We like how they handle things there. It's a timed event that closes on Wednesday at 8 p.m."
